Fellowship Friday
Friday, November 27
Although we couldn't gather for breakfast in person as in the past, we started the day with a short Zoom to celebrate our tenth annual Fellowship Friday! Attendees joined the Zoom starting at 9:00 am to chat with others in the community and hear inspiring messages from Rabbi Michael Resnick, founder of Fellowship Friday; Board chair Skip Randolph; and event chair Eric Christu.
There were approximately 18 participants at each of the two sites for socially distanced "in person" activities including a beach cleanup at Phipps Ocean Park and working with the dogs at Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Participants received a Fellowship mask and refillable water bottle.
An "at home" project was to write letters of support and encouragement to be included in the "We Care" packages provided by Forgotten Soldiers Outreach for deployed members of the armed forces. Participants were also asked to donate toiletries and treats for the packages. To continue supporting this effort beyond Fellowship Friday, visit https://www.forgottensoldiers.org for a wish list of needed items, letter writing guidelines, or to make a cash donation.
